Operations
Suncoast Gold Macadamias processing plant is a modern facility utilising advanced processes and technology. Our quality and food safety management system exercises continual quality control and hazard analysis throughout all aspects of production, ensuring that the high standards expected by our customers are maintained.
Our large shareholder owned orchards are committed to supplying Suncoast Gold Macadamias with an ongoing volume of macadamia nut in shell, enabling an increased output each year.
Macadamia nuts arrive at our processing plant encased in their hard outer shell, the grower having already removed the outer husk and partially dried the nut in shell to approximately 10% moisture content.
After spending 6 - 8 days in drying silos, where the kernel moisture content is reduced to 1.5%, the shells are cracked, the kernels separated from the shell and the kernel is both electronically and manually inspected to ensure that only the finest quality is included in the finished product.
The kernels are graded to industry specifications, and are available in a range of styles and sizes. Using modern packaging machines, they are then gas flushed and vacuum sealed in multi-laminated foil packs.
Strict quality and food safety management procedures throughout all stages of processing and a focus on developing new export markets have supported the export of some 70% of our production being exported on the international market.
Suncoast Gold Macadamias has developed a reputation both in Australia and around the world for the efficiency of its operations, quality of its products and a comprehensive client service.
